To me, this has been the hottest summer I can remember. The consistent heat has made insulating attics extremely difficult. Temperatures in attics often reach 190 degrees, taxing on men in tyvek suits spraying foam or cellulose. These dedicated crews take several breaks, drink gallons of water, and keep in top physical shape in order to endure the extreme heat. These certified professionals work hard by installing products designed to keep the heat out in the summer and heat in during the winter.
The Insulation Installer has long been a profession that most people avoid. The working conditions are as nasty as it gets. Tight accesses and old insulation add to the challenge these men fight through each day in order to provide comfort, save energy, and reduce our carbon footprint. Couple the working conditions with the mechanical knowledge and certifications that these men must carry, you have an occupation that very few are cut out for.
